This September 18th–22nd, 2019, Rotterdam Capital Days is taking place for the second year in a row. In collaboration with multiple innovation partners, Rotterdam Capital Days promotes Rotterdam’s innovation ecosystem and boosts access to funding for startups and scaleups. The goal is to demystify the world of capital by connecting ideas, talent, and money. It will kick off on September 18th, with a mysterious opening event in de Doelen, featuring a number of surprise speakers. Last year’s edition attracted 1 100 people to 10 different events over three days. “The 2019 program is more focused on quality, human connection, and impact. We’re looking forward to 5 days filled with events on new insights, awareness, and matchmaking,” says Anoesjka Imambaks, Executive Director of Venture Café and initiator of Rotterdam Capital Days.
Rotterdam Capital Days brings together a wide range of stakeholders – from entrepreneurs to corporates, investors, experts and innovation partners. Anyone with an interest in how to attract both financial and human capital in Rotterdam is invited, as are investors – angels, corporate venture, venture capital and more. Connect, talk, grow your network and knowledge.
Rotterdam Capital Days 2019 is made possible together with a wide range of innovation partners from the South Holland area. Those include BlueCity, CIC, Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship (ECE), Gemeente Rotterdam, InnovationQuarter, NLGroeit, Port of Rotterdam, Rotterdam Partners, Techstars’ StartupWeekend, Venture Café, 42 Workspace and YES!Delft.
Each of those partners will be contributing to the program by hosting events, all revolving around the topic of attracting and raising capital. Participants can expect anything from scaleup dinners, where founders can meet fellow entrepreneurs and talk about business growth, to an investor edition of FuckUp Nights at BlueCity, highlighting cases where the investor-startup relationship did not quite work out. The following weekend is reserved for the Techstars’ StartupWeekend, a 54-hour pressure cooker that will take place in CIC Rotterdam and show aspiring entrepreneurs exactly what it takes to launch a company on a tight schedule and with limited resources.
